Home and Away

With the advent of COVID-19, University at Buffalo and the Department of Theatre and Dance instituted a number of reforms intended to ensure the safety of performers, designers, and technicians. Among these regulations were solid barriers between performers, social distancing, and UB’s first foray into purely filmed performances, to ensure no audiences or large groups.

COVID-19 has been a challenging and novel experience for all of us, so the success of Home and Away has been most welcome indeed. The lessons learned here will surely follow both the department and myself as we continue to create and inspire during the pandemic.
